Intelectra vs Consensus.
Intelectra grounds every claim in a verbatim quote from the source paper. Consensus summarises study findings.
Feature by feature.
Where a value is uncertain or not surfaced on Consensus's public pages, we leave the cell as “—” rather than guess. Numbered cells link to the public sources in the footnotes.

Common questions.
Is Consensus better for biomedical research than Intelectra?
Consensus draws on Semantic Scholar's 200M+ peer-reviewed papers across every discipline. Intelectra is biomedical-specific: PubMed plus the MedCPT-Article cross-encoder for in-domain reranking, plus a user-owned corpus of full-text PDFs. For biomedical workflows, in-domain reranking and full-text grounding matter more than corpus breadth.
Does Consensus verify quotes the way Intelectra does?
Consensus produces AI-generated summaries (Study Snapshots, Pro Analysis, Ask Paper) over the underlying research, rather than enforcing a verbatim-quote provenance contract. Intelectra rejects any quote that does not match a page-anchored region extracted by Docling, before synthesis.
Can I run Consensus on my own infrastructure?
No. Consensus is a cloud SaaS. Intelectra's Closed-mode deployment runs every component (LLM, agent orchestration, retrieval, embeddings) on your infrastructure, and is air-gappable.
How does pricing compare?
Consensus Premium is $10 per month on annual billing; the free tier includes 10 Pro Analyses, 10 Study Snapshots, and 10 Ask Paper messages per month. Intelectra's tier numbers finalise at public launch; early users get a permanent discount.
Does Consensus export to BibTeX?
Consensus's public documentation describes RIS and CSV export. BibTeX export was not surfaced in the help center pages we checked. Intelectra's Bibliography Generator exports to Vancouver, APA, BibTeX, and RIS.
When would I pick Consensus over Intelectra?
Consensus's strengths are its breadth (200M+ peer-reviewed papers across every discipline) and its multilingual search (100+ languages). If you need a quick yes/no/maybe consensus view across an entire field, that surface is faster. Intelectra is the right fit when you need the underlying quote to defend the claim in a manuscript or regulatory submission.
